In my twenties I had months where the business did up to $2M. Even I was surprised by it. But it did not come from luck or some secret trick. It came from a simple sequence I kept repeating.
If you want to get to $100k a month fast, you need three things working together: an offer people actually value, a cash cycle that turns ad dollars into more dollars quickly, and a long term move into businesses that are worth more than their revenue.
Here is exactly how I think about each one.
Step 1: Build an offer people actually value
Value has to feel like a fair exchange. Alex Hormozi put words to this in $100M Offers, and I was already doing it before I had the language for it.
Every offer gets judged on four things:
- Dream outcome. How badly does the buyer want the result?
- Perceived likelihood. How confident are they that they will actually get it?
- Time. How long until they see the result? Shorter wins.
- Effort. How much work do they have to put in? Less wins.
Push the first two up and the last two down and your offer gets better. Simple to say, hard to do.
Think about plastic surgery versus a fitness program. Liposuction scores high on all four. Fast, almost guaranteed, very little effort. That is brutal competition for any fitness coach.
How my own offers scored
I have sold offers in very different markets, and they did not all score the same.
- Fitness, lose 20 pounds of fat. I raised the likelihood by letting clients eat and train in a way they enjoyed without wrecking their results. Time and effort were hard to change, so I would call it 2 out of 4. It still made good money.
- Business coaching for trainers to hit $10k a month. The outcome was very desirable, but likelihood was about 50/50 and time and effort were high. Demand was strong enough to carry it.
- A day trading portfolio company. Strong outcome, fairly high likelihood, results within about a week, and low effort. It hit most of the quadrants, and it made me the most profit.
- Closer training to make $10k a month. Lower likelihood, longer time, more effort. It still sold, but it was the weakest of the four.
The lesson: offers that score well everywhere win. An offer with an extremely high dream outcome can also overcome weak spots.
Charge a premium, not the lowest price
Do not try to be the cheapest. Give the most value and charge for it. When you show real value, you get to pick your ideal clients instead of chasing everyone.
Here is roughly what my offers sold for:
- Fitness: $3,200 for four months.
- Business consulting: starting around $5k and going much higher.
- Day trading: up to about $25k over three to four months.
- Closer training: up to $10k over three to four months.
With high ticket offers, you need far fewer buyers. If only 3 out of 100 people say yes, that can still make someone very wealthy.
Step 2: Run a fast conversion cycle
The goal is simple. Spend a dollar, get two or more back, and do it fast. Then repeat.
Here is a generic version of the math:
- Spend $1,000 on ads across Facebook, YouTube or Instagram.
- Get about 100 leads at roughly $10 each.
- About 10% book a call. That is 10 calls. I call this the law of 10.
- About 1 of those closes.
- On a $3,000 program, that is about $2,000 profit for the cycle.
Run that cycle over and over and you have a business.
The fitness numbers
In fitness, a full time trainer cost me about $100 per client per month. It cost about $500 in ads to get a client. The package was $3,200 over four months with at least $800 paid upfront. That left roughly $2,600 profit per client.
The consulting numbers
In business consulting, coaching cost about $200 per client and acquisition cost about $2,500. More expensive, but the price justified it. I aim for acquisition cost to be around 25% of the contract value, with four month deals and a minimum down payment of about $4k.
The high price is what makes the cash cycle fast and profitable. Cheap offers cannot fund the ads.
Step 3: Partner with businesses that already work
Once you know how to grow, you can do it for others in exchange for equity or a profit share. I call these portfolio companies.
One partner, Kyle, gets leads for about $5 each. Mine cost four to five times more. He sells deals around $25k. When my team helps a business like that grow, everyone wins.
My rule of thumb: collected cash should cover about 2x your acquisition cost plus your cost of delivery, ideally within about three days. If two coaches at $5k a month are your delivery cost, you need around $30k collected. The good businesses clear that easily.
Step 4: Move from services to tech
Service businesses like fitness and consulting are easy to start. A phone or a laptop is enough. You sell information or coaching.
The downside is valuation. Clients leave. After a program ends I see 20% to 30% churn a month, so these businesses get low multiples.
Tech is different. Think Uber, Skype or Zoom. Customers rarely cancel, so the business is worth far more. At a 10x multiple, $1M in revenue becomes a $10M valuation.
That is the path I took. I started in services, bought two tech companies, and later started my own. The key to a high multiple is keeping customers.
The takeaway
Build an offer people value and charge a premium for it. Run a conversion cycle where every dollar in ads comes back as two or more, fast. Then use that cash and skill to partner with strong businesses and move toward companies that keep their customers.
That is how you get to $100k a month quickly, and how you turn income into real wealth.
